But today  I am going to share my recipe which is gravy based.

INGRIDIENTS

Arbi or (Colocasia)  in english 500 gms

Onions - 4 medium sized

Garlic - 1 teaspoon crushed

Ginger - paste 1 tsp

Green chillies 2

Oil for frying  and sauteing

Jeera or cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

Tomatoes - 2 finely chopped

Salt - 1 tsp

Red chilli powder  3/4 tsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Dhania or corainder powder 1 tsp

Garam masala  1/2 tsp

Green corainder leaves to garnish

Cooking Method

First we need to wash the arbi well and boil

it until tender. Let cool.( remember to choose

the arbi of almost equal sizes )

Peel  the arbi well.

Take a frying pan and heat oil .

Fry the arbi in medium heat, until brown.

Now we need to make a nice gravy for the

dish . To make the gravy we will combine

the cut onions, green chillies, ginger  and garlic

blend them in a blending jar or a mixer

to get a smooth paste. Next we blend the

tomatoes too  seperately  and keep aside.

Now in another pan we will heat oil, add

cumin seeds.

Saute the onion paste on medium heat until

 golden brown.

Add the pureed tomatoes  to it and stir until

the oil separates from the gravy.

One by one we can add the masala, salt,

turmeric, corainder and stir well. Add

a little water so that the dry masalas are

integrated well  with the gravy.

Let cook for 2 - 3 minutes on medium heat.

Add the fried arbis and stir  lightly.

Now is the time to add water for the final

gravy , add  one and a half cup of water and

cover it with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.

Garnish with green corainder and garam

masala.

This dish can be served hot with Indian

Paratha s or tandoori roti.

Try this exotic Indian dish and do not forget

to comment.
